Some useful links: resartis.com is a list of residencies around the world & Triangle Arts Trust is an org that initiates workshops with international artists. I haven't figured out where to put these links in the database, maybe in the Pep Pills section, but for now they are accessible only on this page.
Klue magazine recently wrote a piece on Lau Mun Leng and the only pics they published were of her, not her art.
I am currently working on uploading a Jolly Koh essay. Coming soon, and the pics will come even later...
COMING THIS YEAR, OR NEXT YEAR, HOPEFULLY, MAYBE, PERHAPS: A new section in the Database that will host information about local art institutions and what courses are offered and what they're like, blup blup blup. Pretty ambitious. That's why I don't think I'm the person to do it. Haha. So I need some volunteers to compile this information. The objective is to provide info for those who would be interested in pursuing an education in Art, Art Theory or Art History, and also for people to find out what the training ground for Malaysian artists is like.
We want to know stuff like: Do local art schools have little emphasis on art theory or criticality? What is expected of art students in the various schools? How traditional are the teachings? What kind of student environment is it?
